Strategic governance to guarantee operational excellence

Created in 1980 to guarantee Europe sovereign and independent access to space, Arianespace is a subsidiary of ArianeGroup and Europe’s leading space transport provider.

Structural organisation

Arianespace was founded in 1980. It is a subsidiary of ArianeGroup, which owns almost 74% of its capital. The remaining 26% is held by 15 other shareholders from the European launcher industry, notably:

- MT Aerospace AG, 8.3%;
- AVIO Spa, 3.4%;
- S.A.B.C.A and RUAG Schweiz AG, each holding 2.7%.

The European Space Agency (ESA) and France’s national space agency (CNES) are also non-voting members of the Board of Directors.
